Habituation of Religious Activities in Strengthening Character Education of Pancasila Student Profile in the Dimension of Faith and Piety

Abstract

The formation of faithful and pious character is a fundamental aspect of education, shaping personality and strengthening moral and ethical foundations. This study examines the implementation of character education based on the Pancasila Student Profile through the habituation of religious activities in schools, focusing on the dimension of faith and devotion to God Almighty. Using a case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews with the principal and teachers, non-participant observation, and documentation such as activity schedules, evaluation reports, and photos. The subjects were seven individuals, including the principal and Phase A teachers. Data analysis applied the Miles and Huberman interactive model, with validity tested through source and technique triangulation. Findings reveal five main habituation activities: Qur’an reading, congregational Dhuha prayer, congregational Zuhur prayer, praying, and almsgiving. These religious-based habituations effectively strengthen the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile’s character education in the dimension of faith and devotion.
