Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem resulting from inadequate nutrition and/or repeated infections during the first 1,000 days of life (HPK). According to the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) by the Ministry of Health, most stunting cases in Indonesia occur in children aged 2–5 years, with a prevalence of 26.2%. This study aimed to examine the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and complementary feeding (MPASI) with stunting among children aged 2–5 years in Mojoruntut Village, Krembung District. Across-sectional design was used with a sample of 38 randomly selected children. Data were collected through questionnaires, nutritional status was assessed using the WHO Z-score. The results showed a significant association between exclusive breastfeeding (p = 0.029) and MPASI (p = 0.003) with stunting. Children who did not receive exclusive breastfeeding and adequate MPASI were more likely to experience stunting. Parental nutrition education is essential to prevent stunting healthy eating patterns.
