Abstract

The productivity of sorting workers is influenced by the system and work environment in the sorting section itself. Sorting workers experience many complaints related to the system and work environment that cause fatigue and reduce productivity so that they cannot meet the targets set by the company. By calculating the time required to complete certain tasks, then converting it into a number (FTE index). This number will indicate whether the employee's workload is appropriate or not, then find solutions to the problems being faced to increase company productivity. In this study, before adding employees, the FTE value was 1.71 with 20 employees, then with the proposed addition of 7 employees, the FTE value became 1.26. There are also suggestions for improving the system and work environment to handle conditions such as excessively hot temperatures, excessively dusty atmospheric conditions, excessively noisy environmental conditions that can increase worker productivity.
