Abstract

This study aims to provide appropriate stimulation to improve the fine motor skills of children aged 4-5 years by inviting children to play finger painting activities. The research used a PTK (Classroom Action Research) approach of the Jhon Elliot model with stages: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. PTK data collection methods using: observation and documentation. The sample taken in this study was 8 students from a total of 26 students at Aisyiyah 17 Jasem Kindergarten. The results in this study indicate that finger painting activities can help improve fine motor skills in children aged 4-5 years, during the observation process at the research stage showed a clear improvement in fine motor skills in students after finger painting activities. At the pre-cycle stage, the success rate recorded was 35.75%, while in cycle 1, there was a significant increase to 81%.
