Penggunaan Metode Storytelling Melalui Cerita Rakyat dalam Menanamkan Nilai Karakter Siswa Sekolah Dasar

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of the storytelling method through folklore in instilling character values in elementary school students. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with the research subjects of class teachers and fourth grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Krian, Sidoarjo Regency. Data collection techniques were conducted through in-depth interviews, observation of learning activities, and visual documentation. The results showed that the storytelling method not only enhances students' imagination, but is also able to instill character values such as honesty, responsibility, empathy, and respect for parents. Storytelling allows students to understand life values in a contextual and fun way, as well as generating emotional involvement in the learning process. Folktales as teaching materials are also proven to strengthen cultural identity and build connections between local values and students' personal experiences.
