Abstract

Students in the Light Vehicle Engineering (TKR) vocational program often struggle to understand the structure and function of vehicle components, especially the car braking system, due to the lack of interactivity in conventional learning media. This study aims to develop an Augmented Reality (AR)-based instructional application to improve comprehension through interactive 3D visualizations. Using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method, the development process follows six stages: concept, design, material collection, implementation, testing, and distribution. The resulting application displays braking system components in 3D, complete with drag-and-drop features and descriptive information about each part. A feasibility test was conducted with 25 respondents using a Likert scale questionnaire. The application achieved a score of 996 out of 1250, equating to 80%, and was categorized as feasible. This suggests that the AR-based media can serve as an innovative and effective learning tool, offering a more engaging and contextual experience for automotive education.
