Abstract

This background examines the significant effect of Questioning Answering learning model on elementary school students' reading comprehension ability. The study used a quantitative approach with a Pre-Experimental design through the One Group Pretest-Posttest method, involving 20 fifth grade students from SD Negeri Waruberon. The study emphasized the importance of reading comprehension in education, especially in improving critical thinking skills and vocabulary acquisition. The application of the Questioning Answering model showed a significant increase in reading comprehension scores, from 65 to 82, with 75% of participants making progress. In addition, the approach encouraged active teacher-student interaction and motivated students to engage more deeply with the material, overcoming the challenges of low reading interest and comprehension levels prevalent in the educational context in the region. The findings confirm the need for effective teaching models such as Questioning Answering to improve students' reading skills and academic success.
