Enhancing EFL Students’ Writing Skills in Recount Texts through Scrapbook Activities

Abstract

The objective of the study was to examine the impact of scrapbook usage on students ability to write recount texts. A quantitative method was employed, utilizing a pre-experimental design invloving a single class. The research instrument was a writing test administered to 25 participants. Data were collacted through pre-test and post-test assesments. Analysis using a paired sample T-test in SPSS idicated a significant improvement in students scores. The average pre-test score was 47.3, while the post-test average increased to 58.9, demonstrating a noticeable enhancement. The T-test results showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000, which is lower than the alpha level of 0.05 (0.000<0.05). this results leads to the rejection of the nul hypothesis (H0) and the acceptance of the has a significant positive effect on students writing performance in recount texts
