Snakes and Ladders Media to Improve Counting Ability Whole Numbers

Abstract

Primary students have difficulty understanding addition and subtraction of whole numbers because the lessons are still abstract and not related to everyday life. Primary students find it easier to understand material through games. Learning media is needed to help students understand material. The purpose of this study is to develop and produce a whole numbers snake and ladder learning media product (ultabica). R&D was used as a research method through the ADDIE model. This study produced two initial stages. The first stage, analysis, resulted in the identification of learning needs, material mapping, and student characteristics, which became the basis for the design of ultabica media. The second stage of the design process involves designing and producing products in the form of game boards and game guides for ultabica. This media can then be used as a reference for teachers in designing contextual and participatory learning activities.
