Abstract

The purpose of the study was to introduce and apply the paired story telling learning model in improving speaking skills in elementary schools. With this study, we can find out the importance of speaking skills for elementary school students and higher levels. Speaking is a means of communication for someone to convey information, feelings, opinions, and other interactions. By speaking, children can develop their language and get new vocabulary. Paired story telling learning model can train students to be more skilled and more confident in speaking. Because the paired story telling learning model is a storytelling activity in pairs by practicing articulation, intonation, expression. The population in this study were students of grade 3 SDN Ganggang Panjang and totaled 24 samples. This study uses a quantitative method of the Pre Experimental type with a One Group Pretest - Posttest Design.
