Abstract

As Internet of Things (IoT) technology advances, this research aims to design and develop a door security system that integrates two biometric authentication methods: fingerprint and facial recognition, utilizing an ESP32-CAM module. Employing a prototype methodology, the system comprises hardware components including an ESP32-CAM module, a fingerprint sensor, and a door solenoid, alongside an online server for data processing and a web-based monitoring interface. A key advantage of this system, distinguishing it from previous research, is its history log feature, accessible via the website for real-time access monitoring. Testing results indicate successful system implementation. The optimal effective camera range for facial recognition was found to be 40-50 cm, achieving a 70% match rate. Furthermore, the dual authentication functionality successfully verified users with a 100% success rate according to the designed scenarios tested on 11 people.
