Abstract

Diseases caused by microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria, parasites, or fungi are called infectious diseases. which can be transmitted from one individual to another, either quickly or slowly, and are a serious threat to public health. This study aims to develop a web-based expert system to provide convenience in diagnosing infectious diseases. The method used in this system is Forward chaining, which is a reasoning method that starts the process from the initial facts of symptoms to draw conclusions based on the rules available in the knowledge base. This system is built using the Life Cycle of Expert System Development (ESDLC) approach, which consists of several main stages, namely problem identification, needs analysis, knowledge acquisition, design and design, and system testing. The result of this study is a website-based expert system application designed to diagnose infectious diseases.
