Abstract

This study is entitled the problems of learning kitab kuning at MA Islam Terpadu Darul Fikri, Sidoarjo. Using a qualitative descriptive research method. Data collection methods are obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation. Data validity uses triangulation. Several factors in the difficulty of understanding: 1) internal factors; internal factors of students, namely: a) difficulty reading Arabic texts, b) difficulty writing Arabic texts, c) difficulty speaking using Arabic, d) decreasing interest and motivation to study yellow books. External factors: a) inappropriate learning methods, b) programs that are not yet optimal, c) independence has not emerged, d) pedagogical competence of educators is not yet optimal. 2) Efforts made by MA Islam Terpadu Darul Fikri, Sidoarjo: a) classifying students, b) providing motivation, c) holding digital-based kitab kuning learning training, d) conducting supervision and evaluation, e) integrating yellow book learning in schools and Islamic boarding schools, f) changing the curriculum, g) making follow-up plans.
