Design of Augmented Reality Application as an Interactive Educational Tool for Learning Spatial Building

Augmented Reality (AR) technology is starting to be widely used in the education sector to increase the effectiveness of learning, including in spatial geometry material. This research designs an AR application based on Unity 3D and Vuforia SDK, to help Sidoklumpuk Elementary School students understand the concept of three-dimensional space interactively. The research uses the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method which includes the stages of concept, design, material collection, manufacture, testing and distribution. The trial results show that the designed application can improve students' understanding of shapes, volume formulas and surface areas of geometric figures. The application is also equipped with a Mini Quiz feature to test student understanding directly.
