The Influence of Hardiness and Self-Efficacy in Overcoming Academic Burnout on Students at Islamic Boarding Schools

This study aimed to examine the influence of hardiness and self-efficacy on academic burnout among students in Islamic boarding schools. The participants were male and female students from grades 7 to 9 who lived and studied at the schools. Using a non-probability accidental sampling method, 140 students were selected from a population of 180. Data were collected through online and offline questionnaires using three main instruments: the Dispositional Resilience Scale (DRS-15), the General Self-Efficacy Scale, and the School Burnout Inventory (SBI). The results showed that the regression model was statistically significant (F = 135.865, p < 0.001), indicating that hardiness and self-efficacy jointly have a significant effect on academic burnout. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.665, meaning that 66.5% of the variance in academic burnout is explained by these two variables, while the remaining 33.5% is influenced by other factors.
