This study to analyze the relationship between self-esteem and self-control with narcissistic behavior among TikTok users at Hang Tuah 5 High School. Using a quantitative correlational design, the study involved 221 students selected through a saturated sampling method. Data were collected using validated scales for narcissistic behavior, self-esteem, and self-control. The findings revealed a positive relationship between self-esteem and narcissistic behavior, and a negative relationship between self-control and narcissistic behavior. This indicates that higher self-esteem is associated with increased narcissistic tendencies, lower self-control contributes to greater narcissistic behavior. Adolescents with high self-esteem may seek and attention through platforms like TikTok, while those with low self-control struggle to regulate their online behavior. Unchecked narcissistic behavior can lead to negative consequen such as stress, depression, and social issues. These results provide valuable insights into psychological factors influencing adolescent behavior in the digital age and serve as a foundation for developing effective interventions.
