Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in shaping individual development, but students are often faced with academic pressure that can trigger academic burnout. Self-esteem and self-efficacy are believed to be two factors that contribute to this condition. This study aims to determine the effect of self-esteem and self-efficacy on academic burnout in students. The approach used is quantitative with a correlational method. The population in this study were 283 vocational high school students, with a sample size of 155 students selected using stratified random sampling techniques. The research instrument was a psychological scale that measures self-esteem (X1), self-efficacy (X2), and academic burnout (Y). Data were analyzed using multiple regression techniques using SPSS software. The results showed that both self-esteem and self-efficacy had a positive and significant effect on academic burnout (p <0.001). This finding shows the importance of strengthening self-esteem and self-efficacy in students to help them deal with academic pressure.
