Abstract

The success or failure of learning can be known by one way to find out students' perceptions of the learning that is taking place. This study aims to examine students' perceptions of Arabic language learning using the Independent Curriculum implemented at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sidoarjo. The main problem raised is how students view the effectiveness and implementation of this curriculum in supporting Arabic language learning. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and students were the main data sources. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data collection, reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that most students had a positive perception of Arabic language learning in the Independent Curriculum. They felt that this curriculum made the learning process easier through a relevant, interactive, and fun approach.
