Identification of Corn Plant Diseases Using the Forward Chaining Method
Identifikasi Penyakit Tumbuhan Jagung Menggunakan Metode Forward Chaining

Corn is a major agricultural commodity in Indonesia that plays an important role as a source of food and animal feed. However, its productivity often decreases due to disease attacks that are difficult for farmers to identify. This study aims to develop a website-based expert system using the Forward Chaining method to diagnose corn diseases quickly and accurately. This method works by tracing the symptoms given by the user and matching them with the rules in the knowledge base. Data were collected through literature studies and interviews with farmers, then modeled in the form of a decision tree. The results of this study are expected to help farmers in recognizing types of corn diseases independently and provide recommendations for appropriate control to increase crop yields and agricultural efficiency.
