The Influence of Social Support on Self-Acceptance Among Adolescents in 'Aisyiyah and Muhammadiyah Orphanages in Sidoarjo

Adolescence is a phase of identity formation, where social interactions play a crucial role. A common challenge, especially for those in orphanages, is difficulty in achieving self-acceptance. This study examines the relationship between social support (X) and self-acceptance (Y) among adolescents at the ‘Aisyiyah Orphanage in Sidoarjo. Using a quantitative correlational design, 108 participants were selected through random sampling. Likert-scale questionnaires measured social support (SPQ, α = 0.971) and self-acceptance (SAS, α = 0.938). Pearson correlation analysis showed a significant positive relationship (r = 0.748, p < 0.001), with social support explaining 56% of the variance in self-acceptance.
