Abstract

In this study, an ESP32-CAM microcontroller-based corn grain dryer was developed with the aim of increasing the efficiency of the post-harvest drying process. This research was conducted through an experimental investigation to evaluate the impact of different drying tools and techniques on corn kernels. The result of this research is that corn kernels can be dried more quickly and efficiently because they are not fixated on the weather. This research shows the creation of an effective ESP32-CAM-based corn dryer with automatic temperature control. Based on calculations, this device can dry corn kernels within 30 minutes - 2 hours to dry 0.5 kg of corn kernels, much faster than the conventional way. The ideal drying temperature range is maintained by the automatic system between 38 and 40°C. The camera successfully detects the change in color of the corn kernels from wet (yellow) to dry (golden).
