The Urgency of Character Education in Preventing the Erosion of Student Morals in the School Environment
Urgensi Pendidikan Karakter dalam Mencegah Terkikisnya Moral Siswa di Lingkungan Sekolah

The constant use of foul language by students, anger in response to instructors' advice, bullying of classmates who are considered weaker, and defiance of teachers' orders are all issues highlighted by this study. Students' actions while in the school environment, particularly in the classroom, provide clear evidence of this. Character education is therefore seen as important to introduce from a young age in Indonesia, given the fact that student morale has been declining since the advent of globalization. Some of the problems schools face include improper assessment of student character and a general lack of understanding and socialization of character education. Researchers have proposed a solution: schools, administrators, and instructors should prioritize character education over content understanding to address this. And make significant strides in character education for their students.
