Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of a cooling system using water-fed copper pipes to reduce the temperature of solar panels and its impact on system performance. The cooling system is equipped with an automatic valve that regulates the water flow based on the temperature detected by the sensor. Tests were conducted at the University of Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo by measuring the parameters of voltage, current, power, and surface temperature of solar panels. By using 2 solar panels with a power of 100 wp. The results showed that the use of a cooling system can reduce the panel temperature, which has an impact on increasing the output voltage and power. Solar panels with cooling using copper pipes show a significant improvement in performance compared to those without cooling.
