Abstract

In the manufacturing industry, facility layout plays an important role in the smooth production process. One of them is at the Mustika Trophy factory, the problem that occurs is that there is still an inefficient work area distance and also backtracking. This research aims to provide a more efficient production layout proposal to shorten the distance of material transfer between work stations. In the application of layout redesign at the Mustika Trophy factory using the Activity Relationship Chart (ARC) and Blocplan methods. From the results of the method, a total decrease in displacement distance of 20.9 m was obtained, with an efficiency of 72.06%. This proposed layout results in a smaller material transfer distance between work stations. Therefore, this proposed layout can be an alternative relayout for the more efficient Mustika Trophy factory.
