Abstract

White Turi leaves (Sesbania grandiflora (L) Pers.) are a plant that has the potential to be a natural antioxidant. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of white turi leaf extract on the kidneys of male white rats (Rattus novergicus) induced with a toxic dose of paracetamol. This study is a laboratory experimental study with a randomized controlled design and a pre-post control only group design research pattern. This study used 35 male Wistar rats divided into 7 treatment groups. Measurement of antioxidant activity was carried out by measuring MDA levels, measuring kidney function was carried out by measuring BUN and creatinine levels, and macroscopic observation of the kidneys. The results showed that white turi leaf extract had good antioxidant activity, marked by a decrease in MDA levels. White turi leaf extract is also able to prevent kidney damage induced by a toxic dose of paracetamol, marked by
