Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of education and burnout on turnover intention with job satisfaction as an intervening variable among cafe employees in Sidoarjo. The research employs a quantitative approach with independent variables including education, burnout, and job satisfaction. Data were collected from 114 cafe employees in Sidoarjo through a survey using a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques employed Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to test the proposed hypotheses. The findings of the study reveal that: (1) Education has a positive and significant impact on job satisfaction. (2) Burnout has a negative and significant impact on job satisfaction. (3) Education has a negative and significant impact on turnover intention. (4) Burnout has a positive and significant impact on turnover intention. (5) Job satisfaction has a negative and significant impact on turnover intention. (6) The effect of education on turnover intention through job satisfaction as an intervening variable is negative but not significant. (7) The effect of burnout on turnover intention through job satisfaction as an intervening variable is positive and significant. The findings of this study provide valuable insights into the relationships between education, burnout, job satisfaction, and turnover intention. This understanding can help cafe management in Sidoarjo to design strategies to enhance job satisfaction and reduce turnover rates. By addressing burnout and leveraging educational opportunities, cafe businesses can improve employee retention and overall organizational performance.
