This study aims to analyse the basic principles or approaches related to counselling guidance found in the Quran, especially those found in Surah Luqman verses 12-19. From the interviews that the author conducted, it shows that the counselling guidance in the Darussalam Islamic boarding school uses an approach that comes from the Quran or specifically comes from Surah Luqman verses 12-19. Based on the analysis of the interviews that the author conducted to the head of the dormitory, counseling teachers and students at the Darussalam Gempol Islamic boarding school. It shows that the Darussalam boarding school uses a counselling approach derived from the Quran as contained in Surah Luqman verses 12-19. This shows that the Darussalam boarding school not only uses the Quran as a basis for learning, but also uses it in solving problems faced by students.
