Abstract

Preeclampsia is a complication of high maternal blood pressure and contributes the second largest maternal mortality in Sidoarjo. Efforts to prevent preeclampsia can be done by early detection by examining Body Mass Index (BMI) and Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP), but there is no validity test of this early detection. This study aims to determine the specificity and sensitivity of early detection of preeclampsia using BMI and MAP. The research design used observational analytics with case-control. The instrument used data collection sheets with medical record sources and analyzed using chi square and measurement of sensitivity and specificity. There is a relationship between BMI & MAP on the incidence of preeclampsia. The sensitivity and specificity values of IMT are 86% and 4%, while the sensitivity and specificity values of MAP are 100% and 76%. IMT & MAP can be used effectively as early detection of preeclampsia in third trimester pregnant women.
