The Role of Pop-Up Book Media in Reading Ability at the Begining of Elementary School

Abstract

Reading skills are an important foundation for learners' academic development in primary school. However, teaching reading to learners in an engaging and effective way is a challenge for educators. In this context, pop up book media has emerged as one of the promising learning tools in improving reading skills in learners. The purpose of this study to determine the role of pop up book media in the beginning reading ability of elementary school students. This research method uses descriptive qualitative research method. This research was conducted at SDN 1 Ngembe with a total of 20 students. Data collection in this study was carried out through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results of the study proved that judging from the calculation of the average survey questionnaire regarding the questions of using and addressing learning media that have a major impact on improving the ability to read beginning in elementary school students.
