Abstract

PT. Kemasan Ciptatama Sempurna is a company engaged in manufacturing styrofoam.  In companies, there is often a mismatch of the production scheduling system when the number of orders from various customers places orders simultaneously, thus affecting the existing production capacity and resulting in delays in production time. The Genetic Algorithm approach is one of the alternative solutions in fixing problems in scheduling by providing a significant time solution in minimizing the delay in production in terms of scheduling time that has been agreed with the consumer n makespan which provides optimal value production scheduling. The results of this study in production planning obtained a makespan value in the 2021 order activity of 1162.5 hours, this work process uses a genetic algorithm so that a makespan result of 1141.5 hours is obtained. This is more effective than manual scheduling with an efficiency value of 1.02 with a 21-hour savings of makespan.
