Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine whether Inquiry-Based Learning has an impact on the students’ writing achievement, especially in descriptive text. The participants of the study were class XI of Office Management at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Taman consisting of 25 students. The method used in this research is quantitative, and the type of research is pre-experimental with a pre-test and post-test design. Based on the results of the data analysis, the alternative hypothesis in this research is accepted because the t-test value is higher that t-table (22,472  2,036).  It can be concluded that the Inquiry-Based Learning method gives an impact on students’ writing achievement.
