The Effect of Implementing OPBL in Elementary School Student's Critical Thingking Skills in Science Learning

This research aims to determine the effect of the Open Problem Based Learning (OPBL) learning model in elementary school science lessons in groups and giving problems on students' critical thinking abilities. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study was all class V students at SDN Sepande. The sampling technique is random sampling. As in class VA (control class) and VB (experimental class). The instrument used is a critical thinking ability test in the form of an essay. Based on the results of the calculation of the hypothesis test (t-test) at a significance level of 5%, the results obtained were Thit>Ttab (12.035>1.708), meaning that was rejected and was accepted. This research shows that the OPBL learning method has an influence on the results of students' critical thinking abilities in the fifth grade science subjects at SDN Sepande.
