Abstract

This article aims to explore how character education in ELT can address the problem of harassment in schools and provide practical strategies for ELT teachers. Method: A literature review with qualitative analysis of relevant academic sources. Results: (1) Character education is important for a good learning environment and respect for cultural diversity. (2) Strategies include character education, social skills, and a multicultural approach, as well as student participation and collaboration with parents and staff. (3) The principles of character education help overcome harassment through respect, honesty, and the role of the teacher. (4) A multicultural approach encourages respect for diversity and challenges stereotypes. (5) Integrating anti-harassment concepts in ELT aims for a safe learning environment with understanding and strategies. (6) Anti-harassment programs involve training and extracurricular activities. (7) Integrating anti-harassment concepts requires integrated strategies involving teachers, students, and parents with methods such as role-playing and discussions.
