Abstract

In the 21st century, students are encouraged to have literacy skills in understanding various information analytically, critically and reflectively. Schools need to improve the implementation of GLS, especially at the habituation stage in order to develop students' interest in reading. This research aims to investigate teachers' perceptions of the implementation of the School Literacy Movement in reading habitual activities at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Sidoarjo. Using qualitative descriptive methods, data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation. The research results show that reading habitual activities are well supported by the school, with adequate facilities such as libraries and reading corners. This program involves various stakeholders, including external organizations, to foster students' interest in reading. The implementation of the School Literacy Movement is very satisfying, and effectively increases students' reading skills and interest, thereby contributing to the development of a literate generation.
