Abstract

The shoe industry is not always in a positive trend, due to global geopolitical influences. However, internal factors can be controlled to survive, namely quality and efficiency. This research aims to identify the performance of PT. XYZ, makes improvements to the company's problems and prepares recommendations for improvement. The six sigma method is used to determine the company's quality performance and then carry out root cause analysis using root cause analysis to get the right improvements. In this research, efficiency was originally 53.4% ​​to 61.2%. There are 7 critical to quality aspects of the object under study, with the root problems being high defect rate, low skill, and component quality problems. Based on the root cause, there are 19 recommendations for improvement that can be widely distributed to production lines. This research can be a source of best practice ideas for shoe manufacturing practitioners.
