Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of social support on happiness among the elderly residents of the Panti Surya Surabaya Nursing Home. This study employs a quantitative correlational research design, with Social Support (X) as the independent variable and Happiness (Y) as the dependent variable. The research is conducted on all elderly individuals residing in Panti Werdha X, with a total population of 100 people. The sample size is determined using the Slovin's formula with a 5% margin of error, resulting in a sample of 80 individuals. The purposive sampling technique is utilized based on predetermined criteria. Data analysis is performed using JASP version 14.0, employing Pearson correlation testing. The analysis reveals a significant positive correlation between social support and happiness (r=0.675, p-value <0.001). This indicates that as social support increases, the perceived happiness of the elderly residents at Panti Surya Surabaya also increases
