This research aims to examine Arabic textbooks that implement the independent curriculum and this research also uses the Arabic textbook criteria instrument that has been formulated by BSKAP. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research approach. The data source for this research is the book Practical Arabic for SMP/MTs class VII by the Foskam Arabic Language Teacher. Data collection techniques use documentation methods. The data analysis technique uses content analysis. Based on the analysis of this research and the conclusion, it is stated that the practical Arabic language textbook for class VII SMP/MTs written by the Foskam Arabic language teacher based on BSKAP is suitable for use as a reference book due to its suitability from several aspects. However, there are several shortcomings in the content of the material, especially in terms of suitability for objectives, such as the absence of Core Competencies (KI) and Basic Competencies (KD).
