Abstract

Fostering the discipline of congregational prayer in grade III students at the Muhammadiyah 1 Sedati Elementary School Mosque has an important role in shaping the character and spirituality of students at an early age. This research uses qualitative methods with interviews, observation and documentation. The research sample consisted of IIIrd grade elementary school students who took part in congregational midday prayers at the school mosque, prayer enforcers from several grades IV-VI students were involved as peer tutors to guide IIIrd grade students in carrying out congregational midday prayers. The results of the research show that grade III students face several problems of disorder in carrying out midday prayers in congregation, limited understanding, disturbances and distractions. Through collaboration with prayer students, teachers have succeeded in overcoming these obstacles and helping grade III students develop discipline in carrying out midday prayers in congregation.
