An encoder is a circuit that can convert data into a new data format. The working principle of the encoder is to change the data in such a way that the recipient can receive the complete information. If the receiver has a decoder that can get the data converted by the encoder. Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is widely used for various automatic process control systems because it can increase the productivity and speed of a process. So that this PLC is suitable to be applied as an encoder sensor control and data processing from the encoder. In this study, researchers designed a system using an encoder sensor as a position determination and multifunctional control by taking data values and ranges obtained from encoder readings which were then processed through the PLC and applied to several indicator lights or pilot lamps.
