Abstract

The unresolved problem of plastic waste. The purpose of this study was to utilize packaging plastic waste as filler and reinforcement for composite tables. The first step taken is to test the characteristics of the composite table structure to find out errors before manufacturing. Von Misses stress, displacement, strain and safety factor are the stages of testing in the solidworks simulation software. The results obtained from the loading of 40-70 Kgf show that all composite table shape concepts meet safety standards, namely above number 1. Meanwhile, for displacement, the circular table shape reaches 6.858 mm. In the aspect of strain, the rectangular table shows the number 3.267. This means that a small rectangular table is sturdier than other table shapes. The conclusion is that resin-based composite tables reinforced with plastic waste can be used as a new breakthrough for table board materials and this design can be continued for manufacturing..
