This study aims to increase the motivation to learn mathematics of grade 1 elementary school students during the transition and adaptation of learning situations between kindergarten and elementary school education levels through the Make a Match type cooperative learning model. this is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) conducted at SDI Alam Bunayya, Prambon sub-district, the research subject is class I semester 1 of the 2022/2023 school year 16 students. Each cycle shows progress, from the pre-cycle which is only 19% and in cycle I it increases by 56.25%. However, the results still do not meet the achievement indicators so further action is needed in cycle II. In cycle II the level of student learning motivation increased by 87.5%, these results have met the action achievement indicator applied by 80%. It is concluded that the Make a Match type cooperative learning model is proven to increase students' motivation to learn mathematics.
