This writing focuses on discussing the law enforcement mechanisms that apply in Indonesia for the protection of personal information and the impact received by the perpetrators of personal data abuse crimes. The method used is normative juridical using statute approach and conceptual approach, to identify and evaluate the applicable legal provisions. After that, researchers will analyze and examine primary legal sources and secondary legal sources to find the rules of law that apply to several cases of personal data crime. Marketplaces have become an important platform for transacting and sharing information. However, the use of marketplaces also brings risks to the privacy and security of personal data. Marketplace users are often required to provide their personal information, such as name, address, phone number, and payment data. Therefore, it is important to have an effective mechanism in place to prevent the misuse of personal data collected by marketplaces.
