Abstract

This study aims to analyze sansivera fiber-reinforced composite materials with polyester matrix and treat sansivera fibers against NaOH alkaline liquid with a content of 15% with a time variation of 1,2,4,6,8 hours. In this study, the design experiment uses the hand lay-up method, which aims to analyze experimental data and provide information on factors that affect parameters. The experiment carried out was through several methods, the results of the fiber tensile test research from the soaking process with 15% NaOH alkali for 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8 hours, obtained the best results processed 15% NaOH alkaline soaking for 8 hours. From the results of the fiber tensile test, 5 composite specimens will be formed. Maximum tensile strength was obtained with 15% treatment for 4 hours of 266 N/mm2 and the highest tensile strength at 15% treatment for 6 hours of 4.17mm.
