Abstract

The purpose of this research is to understand the phenomenon of verbal bullying of elementary school students. The approach in this study uses qualitative research with phenomenological research types. The objects and subjects in this study were fifth grade students at SDN Kalisampurno 1 Tanggulangin. The results showed that the phenomenon of verbal bullying behavior was found in five forms of verbal bullying, namely: (1) ridiculing; (2) calling parents; (3) utter harsh words; (4) cheered, and (5) humiliated. The five verbal bullying behaviors are understood as normal and not seen as a form of bullying or bad behavior. Verbal bullying is perceived by the subject as something fun, even though it has the effect of causing mutual disrespect and fighting.
