Abstract

Warehouse layout is one of the problems found during the observation. The messy warehouse conditions resulted in delayed deliveries because the search for goods took a long time. Therefore, this study aims to provide recommendations for improving the layout of finished goods warehouses to make them more efficient in transferring material handling. Shared storage and class-based storage are two methods used to address this problem, and both are used extensively in the construction of large warehouses. Shared storage (SS) uses the FIFO (First In First Out) method by categorizing products based on the frequency of issuance which is closer to the departure gate. Since the two methods are very similar and related, the search procedure is fast. The results of this study were obtained in the form of a warehouse layout proposal with an efficiency percentage of 71.48% and a more systematic area data collection.
