Diabetes mellitus (DM) is often accompanied by complications in the form of both microvascular and macrovascular complications. One of the complications that often occurs in patients with diabetes mellitus is urinary tract infection. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference between giving 10% formaldehyde preservative with 4 ° C temperature storage to delay urine leukocyte examination in diabetic patients. This study uses a method in the form of analytical observations using urine samples of patients with diabetes mellitus. The number of samples used was 6. The samples were obtained from Siti Fatimah Tulangan 'Aisyiyah Hospital. This research was conducted in May-June 2023. The results of this study indicate that there is a difference between the delay of samples with 4°C temperature treatment and samples given 10% formalin preservative.
