Abstract

At a paper company in Pasuruan, the manufacture of this product requires machines and equipment to be in good condition and speed up the production process.  The problem with this company is that engine maintenance is often neglected, which affects maintenance costs. The cost of treatment at this company is very high, exceeding 20% of the standard, which is equivalent to 350 million Rupiah. The purpose of this research is to determine the optimum paper machine maintenance costs. In order to achieve this goal, the markov chain method is used, namely with perfect enumeration in order to reduce maintenance costs. The results of this study obtained 8 machine conditions on a paper machine with an optimum cost of 237.921 million Rupiah in the 168th stationary policy, namely overhaul if the system is in state 1,2,3,5 and 6. The company can save maintenance costs of 112.079 million Rupiah or about 32%
