PT Karya Mitra Teknik specializes in repairing and renting heavy equipment like trucks, cranes, and forklifts. In 2022, the company faced challenges as forklift repair work took a month due to inefficient facility layout. The delay was attributed to lengthy transfers between departments. To address this, a study aimed to pinpoint issues in the workshop's repair process and propose layout changes. The Activity Relationship Chart (ARC) and Analysis Allocation Diagram (AAD) methods were employed to diagnose problems and optimize each area's layout based on proximity. The study successfully led to an improved layout, reducing the total distance traveled during repairs from 110 meters to 55 meters. This optimization streamlined the repair workflow, minimizing delays caused by inter-departmental transfers. The changes brought efficiency to PT Karya Mitra Teknik's repair facilities, enhancing overall operational effectiveness.
