Pengaruh Model Discovery Learning Terhadap Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) pada Mata Pelajaran IPA Kelas V SD

This study aims to describe effect of the discovery learning model on HOTS in science subjects in class V SD. The population this study were all fifth graders at Muhammadiyah 1 Krian Elementary School and the sample was students of Umar's fifth grade at Muhammadiyah 1 Krian Elementary School, totaling 22 students. The sampling technique used saturated sampling. Type of research quantitative research with the pre-experimental design method, type one group pretest-posttest. The research instrument was a test the form of descriptive questions related to HOTS. Data analysis techniques using descriptive statistics. The HOTS of the students before discovery learning model was applied had an average pretest score of 58.95, while after being treated the average posttest score increased by 84.54. The result of the N-Gain test is 0.62 or the "Medium" category. Which means the discovery learning model effectively used to increase HOTS science subjects in class V SD.
