Abstract

Bumble and Tinder are Dating Apps designed and used specifically for someone who has problems in online dating-based romance. Online dating is an easy and practical activity to find a partner on the internet by writing personal data information through a special application that can be downloaded through a smartphone, without having to have a direct conversation. This study aims to explain the phenomenon of online dating with dating app media and the meaning of using dating apps Bumble and Tinder in the perspective of Computer Mediated Communication and Coordinated Management of Meaning. Data collection techniques through observation and interviews with active users of Bumble and Tinder. The results of this study show that both Bumble users and Tinder users in forming impressions have different information according to their respective privacy domains and online dating has a pseudo meaning and is full of "deceit".
